Constitutional Amendment
On Saturday evening, May 21, 2011, the Minnesota House voted 70-62 to place a constitutional amendment that, if passed, would ban marriage for same-sex couples on the 2012 ballot. This followed a vote of 38-27 in the Minnesota Senate in support of the amendment.
Project 515 joined OutFront Minnesota to form Minnesotans United for All Families, the official campaign launched May 21 to fight – and DEFEAT– this ballot measure.
Together with local partners and national groups including the Human Rights Campaign, the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force, Freedom to Marry, and the Family Equality Council, Project 515 will help to lead the way to the finish line, educating Minnesotans along the way to not only oppose this ballot measure, but to also fully support equality. We hope you will join us. We will prevail in the end.

Project 515 and OutFront Minnesota prepared a story booklet for legislators, documenting the real Minnesota families this amendment would hurt. You can view it here.
