The day we’ve all worked so hard to reach has finally arrived! Today the Minnesota Senate, with a vote of 37 to 30, took the final vote needed to affirm the freedom to marry for loving and committed same-sex couples …
“515– The Tour!” is a 45-minute theatrical representation of the real life challenges faced by same-sex couples and their families in Minnesota based on their inability to marry.
The 515 Awards: An Evening of Celebration and Celebrity will enthusiastically recognize Minnesota leaders who have shown extraordinary commitment to Project 515’s mission to achieve equal rights and considerations under the law for same-sex couples and their families in Minnesota.
We’ll celebrate leaders in our community who helped defeat the marriage amendment, who are leading the charge for marriage at the Capitol, and who will continue to help same-sex couples and their families gain complete and full acceptance in our state.

To make this an evening you won’t forget, we have an all-star lineup including comedian Jackie Kashian – who was recently featured on the late night TBS show, Conan – and NFL punter Chris Kluwe. As you know, Chris has been an outspoken advocate for the freedom to marry, including co-authoring a US Supreme Court amicus brief against California’s Prop 8.
Community Leadership Award: Same-sex couples and their families have benefited from the inspirational leadership of so many across the state, and Project 515 is proud to recognize those who are helping make equality a reality in Minnesota. Nominations are now being accepted.
